Someone asked "Why would an expert in the Standards need SoP RFI?"

An experienced inspector replied: "There are many Standards experts. It is demonstrated that they can disagree on subjective requirements. TREC requires the inspector to use reasonable judgment to form an opinion. When two experts disagree and a licensee is being judged for negligent and incompetent acts what is reasonable?

What is the new licensee, who is not an expert, to think?

What is an enforcement attorney, trained in law but not construction, to think?

What would a jury or mediator think?

This is the purpose of SoP RFI . . .  a voice for ALL inspectors and a resource for all parties involved.

Update October 3, 2010

No work being has been done in a year as far as we know. The TREC below indicates the last work was done one year ago. The Commentary may be a dead project. We will check into it.

Update February 12, 2010

The TREC SoP subcommittee met on February 12, 2010 and dismissed all public comment stating opposition for a Commentary and support for RFI negated itself.

The continued Commentary development will be posted at TREC and we will try to keep that link updated here.
