Someone asked "Why would an expert in
the Standards need SoP RFI?"
An experienced inspector replied: "There are many
Standards experts. It is demonstrated that they can disagree on subjective
requirements. TREC requires the inspector to use reasonable judgment to form an
opinion. When two experts disagree and a licensee is being judged for negligent
and incompetent acts what is reasonable?
What is the new licensee, who is not an
expert, to think?
What is an enforcement attorney, trained in law but not
construction, to think?
What would a jury or mediator think?
This is the purpose of SoP RFI . . . a voice
for ALL inspectors and a resource for all parties involved.
